Welcome to Ramblin Rose Homestead
Rooted living. Simple rhythms. A little flour on the counter.
If you’ve found your way here, welcome.
Ramblin Rose Homestead began the way most good things do — quietly. In the early morning light. With coffee warming in my hands. Chickens scratching in the yard. A sourdough starter bubbling on the counter. Baby giggles drifting through the kitchen.
This space was never meant to be loud.
It’s about simple rhythms.
About tending what’s in front of you.
About building a life that feels steady, seasonal, and intentional.
I’m Sara — a wife, mama, gardener, chicken keeper, baker, tea blender, and someone who believes deeply in the beauty of everyday work. We live on a little patch of Nebraska land where the prairie sky stretches wide and the wind reminds you who’s really in charge.
Ramblin Rose Homestead is where I share:
Herbal tea blends crafted for comfort and calm
Recipes from our kitchen
Seasonal living rhythms
Gardening and preserving
Encouragement for building a slower, rooted life
This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about presence.
It’s about learning how to make taco seasoning from scratch instead of buying the packet. Watching seedlings push through soil. Drying herbs in the kitchen window. Letting the sourdough rise at its own pace.
It’s about creating a home that feels warm when you walk into it.
You’ll find practical posts here — how to start sourdough, what goes into an elderberry syrup kit, how to transplant elderberries, how I blend herbal teas. You’ll also find reflections on motherhood, homesteading with little ones underfoot, and building something meaningful from the ground up.
If you’re craving:
Slower mornings
Scratch cooking
Thoughtful homemaking
Seasonal rhythms
A little more intention and a little less rush
You’re in the right place.
Thank you for being here at the beginning. I can’t wait to share what we’re growing — both in the garden and beyond.
With flour on my hands and gratitude in my heart,
Sara
